About Rebecca

Shamanic Healing Shamanism Ecstatic Awakening Dance™

Rebecca Hanscombe is the Director and lead trainer at the School of Ecstatic Movement.

The School was founded in 2007 by Amoda Maa Jeevan. Amoda, now lives in the USA and is a successful author of numerous books, with a large following for her embodied enlightenment teachings. She passed the gift of this work to Rebecca in a transformational apprenticeship (that cracked open the ego and planted seeds of compassionate wisdom into the heart and mind) that lasted for 7 years.

Alongside this body of sacred work, Rebecca became a   professional Shamanic Practitioner, in her own right and through the Sacred Trust, where she is now a Faculty member.

Through her deep connection with the body-based energetic & shamanic practices, she has been inspired & guided to develop an important new training – ‘The Shaman’s Dance’.

She has over twenty-five years experience as a teacher & facilitator of group process, which includes having introduced dance/movement therapy to inmates within Holloway closed category prison – a pioneering role with which she was involved for well over a decade.

Rebecca carries a profound understanding of what it is to enter into and then navigate transformational, non-ordinary states of consciousness and how to traverse these epiphany states.

“Our bodies are a truly a gift and when allowed to be moved, shaken and stimulated into the complete surrender that these sacred ceremonies inspire, can lead to transformation. Through our bodies we connect to the spirit, shedding emotional, mental and physical dis-ease that may have been holding us back for years”

Rebecca’s gift of ‘allowing sacred space’ is a way that is down to earth, welcoming and safe for all. She develops and facilitates transformational workshops, 1-2-1 programs and events on-line and across Europe.

She is a Lead Trainer for clients such as Success Resources and Real Life property Group.

She is also the mother of a strong and subversive 16-year-old and lives along with her husband and ridiculously cute dog Dexter in the beautiful lush green wild Wye Valley of South Wales.

About Rozz

Rozz McDonald is The Tech priestess for our on-line learning platform, A Wild Chocolate Club Facilitator, Occupational therapist and Mental Health Trainer by day.

As the years have gone by, I have become more interested in the body/spirit/mind connection and alternative health.  I have a Master’s degree in psychodynamic studies and also trained in Reiki to teacher/Masters level. Having been so very cerebral – I felt that I needed something more grounded in the body. Being from a musical background, and having danced for most of my twenties and thirties, I felt that I needed this in my life – and the best way to make it happen was to do the teacher training to make myself commit!!

My vision was Big Beats Dance – for other big people like myself.  I wanted to create a safe body-positive space for people with low self- esteem, or who experienced shame about their body shape or size – but I soon realised that I was being exclusive. I’m on a journey with this – and sharing it with anyone who dares to try and be gentle and kind to themselves, and unlock total freedom to move, eyes-closed to music that provokes connection and movement of all kind.  My body has held a lot for me over the years, so it’s about time I got ‘out of my head’ and into my body.  It’s not been easy for me having been obese since childhood – but that’s the point.  That’s why I’m sharing it with Y’all!!  If I can do it – you can – bring it on!

I have learned this through Ecstatic Awakening Dance™…

I cannot force ‘it’.  Cut ‘it’ off or out of me. Make things happen before they are ready to be released.  I cannot be harsh or cruel, or tough or strict.  I cannot shame or scold myself into action.  I probably won’t even change too much…It begins with a gentle conversation…’Hello body…thank you…how are you doing?’ then being kind and gentle with all of the answers, and all the stories whilst I reconnect, release, unwind, grieve, celebrate, stomp and transform…

About Stacey

Copywriter, Ecstatic Awakening Dance Teacher, Delicious Retreat Food Creator and Farmer.

A free spirit and worldwide wanderer, Stacey has turned her hands to a wide variety of jobs, too many to list here but here are a few of her favourites;
Street Fundraiser, Stripper, Deep-sea Tuna Fisher-Person, Yoga Teacher, Professional Christmas Elf, Undertaker, and most recently, Market Garden Vegetable Mum.

After getting drunk with a colleague and agreeing to accompany him on a 2800 mile bike ride to Istanbul, she began a world wide adventure by bikes, boats, roads and planes which took her to some far flung places and earned her some wonderful skills. In India she studied Odissi Temple Dance and trained as a Tantra Yoga Teacher and in Thailand she learned the art of Northern Thai massage, as well as how to ride a motorbike over dirt roads with 2 of her friends on board.

She eventually returned to the uk and started a family, having 2 biological children and getting 2 bonus children too. The travelling didn’t end there, she regularly bundled the children into the campervan to show them Europe. Unfortunately, married life didn’t last and it was the need to heal from a very messy and painful divorce that led her back to Ecstatic Awakening Dance.

Stacey claims to have healed more through regular dance practice than she could have hoped to do in a lifetime of traditional western style therapy. The desire to help others break from generational repeating patterns of toxic relationships convinced her to train as an Ecstatic Awakening Dance facilitator.

She lives on a farm in rural Hertfordshire growing organic vegetables for veg box customers and lucky retreat participants. She is a member of the Conscious Heart Warriors Collective, holding Cacao, Breathwork and Ecstatic Awakening Dance ceremonies locally, at festivals and at the farm.

About Marcelina

Marcelina is originally from Poland but now lives in Leicester where she works as a videographer and property investor.

She is a trained Ecstatic Awakening Dance Teacher and is apprenticing with Rebecca as workshop assistant.

Marcelina loves cold water swimming and taking long walks in nature. If she could get away with it she would kidnapp Rebecca’s dog Dexter and run away with him where they would live happily ever after jumping in rivers and running through forests.

She also loves pickled food and potatoes. Especially together.
