There are 3 or 5 stages, depending on whether you are practicing the meditation alone or in a group environment:
This is the BODY WARM-UP (approx. 15-20 minutes) – a gentle awakening of the body parts using breath, awareness, movement and music. We start at the soles of the feet and work our way to the crown of the head.
Every part of the body tells a story and in this warm-up we allow fluid movements and rhythmical breath to move stuck energy and to prepare us physically and mentally for the next phase of the class.
Please Note: If you are doing this method alone, then there is no need for this stage, but if you are teaching a class then this is a vital preparation.
This is the SHAKE (15 minutes) – this is perhaps the most important stage as it ignites the life-force for the transformative process to begin. Here we allow the body to shake and tremble all over.
With eyes closed and breath deep and relaxed, the shake is based on Osho’s Kundalini Meditation.
It also has its roots in an ancient form of Chi Kung that uses shaking to open blocked energy-meridians. It’s purpose is to shake off stress and tension and to awaken our life-force which is often “sleepy”. The effect is refreshing, energizing and balancing.
It is also a preparation on physical, emotional and mental levels for the deeper let-go of the next stage.
This is known as the BREATH OF FIRE DANCE or simply the ENERGY DANCE (approx. 45 mins) – this is the main part of the method and is done with the eyes closed. In this phase, we are ready to go deeper and to surrender to the dance.
We ignite the letting-go process with a simple Breathing technique called the Breath of Fire. This section can also be done with a simple Circular Breathing technique. Both of these breathing techniques oxygenate the body and brain so that we are fully energised, switch off the rational “every day” thinking mind and facilitate a “whole-brain” activity which means we access deeper levels of being through the dance. The repetitive rhythms of the breath and the music also enhance synchronised brain activity so that we experience expanded consciousness states.
This is the complete STOP! – when the music stops, so does the dance and you simply drop to the ground in silence and stillness to allow the integration of energies and a deep relaxation.
This is an absolutely vital stage!
This is the HEAVEN & EARTH MEDITATION – now we complete the process with a simple guided visualisation to ground ourselves and come back to our everyday lives in a place of peace, clarity and self-love.
Please Note: This stage is only necessary if you are teaching a class.
"This training is one of the most amazing training I have ever done. If you want to improve your skills as a public speaker, this is the best training. I have felt more confident and more grounded after these 10 days. Very powerful. Thank you Rebecca!"

"It was a life changing experience to embark on the Ecstatic Awakening Dance Teacher Training…Beckie created a deep fun and loving space…Thank you for supporting me to go to the depths of myself and comprehend my ecstatic nature."

"The most special of times, places and people. I knew the dancing would be hot and the teaching passionate, but didn't expect to find my misplaced optimism in life there too. A privilege. "
Alison Eddy | Teacher Training | 2017
"The course is dynamic and packed full of theoretical knowledge and practical exercises. It teaches you how to create a safe and encouraging space for others to take a journey of self-exploration and self-expression through the power of movement, breath and meditation… Rebecca is a brilliant teacher. She is honest, passionate and deeply committed to the growth of her students. I felt much supported by her and by her amazing assistant, Zoë, throughout the whole training."
Grace Dares | Teacher Training | 2015
"We had little idea of the challenges, the tears, the laughter, the sisterhood and the release of the furious dancing to come. Rebecca Hanscombe created mirrors for us to truly see our edges, our fears, our holdings and our resistant patterns and then held us as they broke apart. She let us dive in deep into it all. Rebecca then gave us the space and the support to rebuild and strengthen from a place of love."
Zoë Mason | Teacher Training | 2015
"The facilitators are fantastic creating a space where I feel safe and free to just be me. I have danced with my light and my shadows and am always left feeling lighter, less afraid and more able to access my love and compassion for those around me…"
Amy Thomson | EAD | 2010
"This training has given me the confidence to step forward in LIFE and in becoming an ecstatic awakening dance teacher. I had no idea I would walk away with so many lessons and a deeper understanding of myself as I have. "Being self-conscious isn't serving anyone, especially yourself." This is one of many wise quotes that have stuck with me from the training and I hope to carry it with me for years to come. Thank you Rebecca and Zoe, for your infinite wisdom and the ability to hold such a safe space for such incredible transformation to happen. I'm forever grateful!"
Ashley Stevens | Teacher Training | 2017
"I wanted to say a big thank you. You held space sooooo beautifully despite the room being packed. I loved the chocolate, the setting of our intentions, the smudging, I loved the music, I LOVED the sound bathing! What a scrumptious evening, I wanted it to go on forever!"
Gabi | Wild Chocolate Club Malvern
"I think I might have forgotten myself last night…Actually, if I really think about it, I think I might just have just remembered who I am. Wow.”
F.K. | Hereford Wild Chocolate Club | 2016
"Thank god I stopped procrastinating and decided to come on the teacher training! A very deep and rich experience taking us too many wonderful and challenging places – ultimately arriving at a place of empowerment; feeling confident in holding a space and being inspired with passion for the method. Not to mention meeting some wonderful people – a new soul family!"
